Send SMS in Chinese, Arabic, Japanese, Korean, Greek and any Unicode language.
iSMS supports Unicode (UTF-8) encoding, which allows you to send SMS in non-Latin languages including Chinese, Arabic, Greek, Japanese, Korean, and many more. Standard SMS uses 7-bit ASCII encoding (153 characters per SMS). Unicode SMS uses 16-bit encoding, which supports a much wider character set but reduces the character limit to 63 characters per SMS.
Paste your SMS message below to check if it contains Unicode characters and how many SMS segments it will use. Unicode messages support 63 characters per SMS (70 − 7 reserved); standard ASCII supports 153 characters per SMS (160 − 7 reserved).
iSMS Unicode SMS supports Chinese (Simplified & Traditional), Arabic, Greek, Japanese, Korean, Thai, Hindi, and any other language supported by the Unicode standard.
Below are sample messages sent using Unicode encoding in various languages:

In the iSMS compose SMS window, simply type or paste your message in the target language. The system will automatically detect Unicode characters and switch to Unicode mode. The character counter will update to reflect the Unicode limit.
You can also specify Unicode mode via the SMS API using the type=2 parameter. See SMS API Documentation →
